DMI: Glad we could catch you in between flights. What has been going on this summer?
Brad: Yea I feel like I spend more time on planes than anything else. This summer has been crazy. Jumping around from city to city, studio to studio.
DMI: So anyone who keeps up with your facebook knows that you have horrible luck traveling.
Brad: Haha. Worst luck ever! It's true, I hold the world record for most delayed flights...true story.
DMI: So where all have you been this summer so far?
Brad: I've been to Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, California, Mississippi, Alabama, New Jersey, NYC, Florida, Massachusetts, Texas...There might be some more in there as well, I can't keep track anymore.
DMI: Where were you most recently?
Brad: I actually did a really cool Intensive in Jersey with some great people. Joy Spears was there teaching which was cool to catch up with her. Also Dee Caspary (sytycd) was there teaching along with some Broadway Dance Center teachers. It was an amazing experience. The students were some of the most hardworking dancers I've seen in a long time and they inspired me probably more than vice versa. I always am stoked when I look back and everyone's soaking wet with sweat and just nasty. That means they are loving it.
DMI: So no sweat, no love?
Brad: I couldn't have put it better myself. In my class you better work. I don't care if you get every movement correctly, but you better be sweating.
DMI: Are you ready for another season with DMI?
Brad: I'm so stoked, you have no idea. I love what I do. I get to travel all over meeting people with the same love that I have. It took me a while to figure out that us "dancers" are some really strange people. We are artists and not everyone gets it. To be surrounded by people who "get it" every weekend is a blessing. I love teaching and seeing the kids grow from year to year, or even from month to month. It's an amazing experience.
DMI: Any last words?
Brad: Um...gotta go get on this flight. Wish me luck!
